On our way to Church today Randall said, "I love Jesus because he is handsome" I asked him if he would still love Jesus if he was ugly and both of my boys (Jacob and Randall) exclaimed," no, no way" I asked why and Randall said, " Jesus isn't mean so he can't be ugly." So right now he doesn't have a concept of what a person looks like in regards to their physical appearance only to whether or not they are nice or mean to him and that is what makes them either beautiful, handsome, pretty or ugly. Something to think about I guess. Makes me think about how Christ asked the people to become as a little child meek and mild. I am also thinking of what people would think of me if I am beautiful or Ugly based on how I have been treating them rather then how much I weigh or if I have a deformed face because I can guarantee that if someone that is not considered Beautiful by society at large spent time to talk to Randall and was nice to him, he would think they were so Beautiful and handsome, but Miss Universe could be in the room and if she was not nice he would announce, "she isn't beautiful right now." thanks Randall for the example.
Gericke hired a local artist to make a dragon head to mount on the wall of our shop DragonSlayer Games it was huge!! and amazazing !! The trouble we went through to hang it up was crazy, for being made out of papermache' (sp) it was really heavy.it took three of us to hold it up while someone else tried to bolt it into the wall. We hope that our customers and the community look to it as something to remember the shop by and all its awesomeness. My boys love it and talk about the battle that ensued when uncle Gericke slayed the dragon. We help them out with that story a little bit. Maybe we should hear Gericke tell the story, I am not even sure if he knows he's the one that slayed it. :)
The boys were helping me fold clothes and David found Isaac's Cthulhu animal and started to hug it and play with it, it was very cute but and then I took a picture of him playing with the hanger because I have noticed that hangers are fascinated with them and thought it was a good way to relate to others, in my endless broken hanger dilemma, how does it happen? Well there you go, but they are so cute when they are playing with it just before they brake it.
David loves his Daddy and Daddy loves his David. I have so many pictures of those two sleeping like this and I thought it would be nice to let the world know that my husband is awesome. I am thinking that this one in particular I had been gone doing something and came home to find this precious moment.
It was probably a little early on in the year for us all to be out and enjoying the sun it was probably in the upper 50's or mid 60's outside but the sun was shining and we had been waiting all winter for the snow to melt and the sidewalks to be ready for bike riding. to explain the pictures of the unfamiliar faces they belong to Josh and Hiedi. They stayed with us for a little while and it was one of the better experiences of the year. We learned so much from them and our boys grew rather attached to them. I have since moved all three boys to the room that they stayed in to get ready for the new baby coming this April ( a whole year later) but they still call it "Josh and Heidi's" room every once in a while. Good times!
This was sort of a little family reunion for the McCallum Clan Randall and Caden (I am sorry I am not sure how to spell his name) seemed to get along pretty well, Caden showed Randall Papa's chickens and he has been asking about them ever since.... David got to meet his Uncle Aaron and he took to him pretty good. Over all it was a really good experience for the whole family.
It was the first time I had seen my Big Brother in a long time this was his coming home party! Isaac had never met Cache in person and we had been married for about 6 1/2 years at this point, Isaac wanted to make a good impression. He had a good idea to buy a file and put it in the cake I was unsure of how Cache would take the joke but I think it went well. Cache is doing well and I am so proud of him it is coming up on a year since he came home and I think that is the longest he has been able to be with his family since before he was married. Very exciting!!! Hopefully we will be able to visit home again to celebrate the year mark but we will see.
So to do a quick recap of 2013 I will start out with pictures from January and work my way through the year and hopefully end with some pretty good posts and everyone else will have a pretty good idea of how our year went and how we are doing. This was Randall Lee Beavin II on his 4th birthday he picked a dinosaur themed birthday cake and was pretty fun the Kohn family was there to help celebrate.

why having the proper authority to act in Gods name is important
Acts 19-20
Five ordinances that Paul Performed were
1.Baptism
2. Giving the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of Hands (blessing)
3. Sacrament
4.He cast out evil spirits
5.Raised the dead (not sure if that is an ordinance)
When Paul found disciples he asked them if they had received the gift of the Holy Ghost, they said they hadn't heard of it, they said they were baptized as john had baptized and Paul explained that John baptized for repentance and he had prepared a way for Jesus. He then baptized them with authority and blessed them by putting his hands on their head and they received the Holy Ghost and were able to speak wonderful things. I found it interesting when Paul had cast out spirits they were gone but when others who claimed they had authority tried and the spirits said they didn't know them but they knew Jesus and Paul (Paul was ordained by Jesus, he was given the authority to act in Gods name). The reason the disciples needed to be baptized again was because they needed to be baptized by one having authority by God to baptized so must everyone be baptized by someone who has been ordained with the priesthood as the apostles were ordained to baptize.
They then met on the first day of the week to break bread in remembrance of Jesus. The Sabbath day had changed from the last day of the week to the first day of the week because that was the day Jesus rose from the dead and Jesus also appeared to the apostles on the first day of the week.

Acts 6-7 Stephen the martyr
I will summarize Stephens last words and my impressions as I read them.
In Acts chapter 6:6-8 Stephen is called and ordained of God, He had such faith that miracles and wonders were his companion. In Acts chapter 7: 51-60 Stephen was frustrated with the people for not listening to the spirit and they would not learn from those that came before them, they did as their parents did and persecuted the prophets even Jesus and they were doing the same to Stephen they had been visited by angels and still strayed from the truth. Well the people didn't take this very well and they through him out of the city and began to stone him as they did he looked up into heaven. 55 But, he being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, 56 and said, behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
When Stephen declared these words he told the world a specific truth that God and Jesus Christ are not one being but two separate beings that work together. I know that Stephen died knowing he would be saved in the Kingdom of God and he was so amazing that he even asked for God not to judge the people for stoning him to death. how bad would I feel if that had happend to me?

New Testament
This is for my assignment: I am supposed to read the chapter summaries from Acts 1-8, 10-12 and the Bible dictionary entry the "acts of the Apostles". I am supposed to share any themes I notice so here goes.
Note to remember this all happens after Christ was Crucified and ressurected
1. There is a lot of preaching the gospel and getting persecuted for it. the preaching is in preparation for the restoration of the kingdom of God on Earth. When Metthias was chosen to fill the vacancy in the 12 apostles I think that was an example that the apostles were to continue on the earth and that there should be 12 always.
2. Moses prepared the way for Christ by his prophesies and also he was said to have been a prototype of Christ.
3. Repentance through Christ will bring salvation
4.Miracles are able to be performed even after Christ's death.
5. The gift of the holy Ghost must be conferred by someone who has the authority to confer it. that authority can not be bought.
6. Everyone is able to be taught the Gospel.
7. Everyone is able to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
8. Angels are able to speak to men on earth.
9. The church is guided by revelation
10. All are able to receive forgiveness for their sins.
The next part of my assignment is to read the chapter various chapter headings again and record what Peter was doing in those chapters.
Chapter 2: Peter Testifies of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, He teaches of the path to salvation and the Gift of the Holy Ghost. I remember my favorite scripture from this chapter as I read, the people knew that Jesus Christ was the messiah and they believed they could repent and they said, "Men and Brethren what shall we do? Peter replied,"Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for a remission of sins and Ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." 3000 people were baptized that day!! awesome!
Chapter 3: Peter Heals a lame man and preaches repentance and teaches of the the age of restoration preceding the second coming, and he also teaches that Christ is the prophet of whom Moses spoke of.
Chapter 4:Peter is arrested for preaching and performing miracles in the name of Jesus Christ and we asked to stop doing such in the name of Christ , but Peter refused.
Chapter 5: Peter is arrested yet again, because of envy by the high priest. but that did not stop peter the prison doors were opened by the angel of the Lord
Chapter8: Peter goes to Samaria and confers the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands. Peter rebukes a man for trying to buy the authority to act in Gods name (its not for sale)
Chapter 9:Peter Heals AEneous and raised Dorcus from the Dead
Chapter 10: Peter had a vision to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles.
Chapter 12: Peter is freed from prison yet again.

Randall potty Trianing
Well it has been adventure he is just about 19 months and is having a crazy time Jacob was a lot easier to potty train but maybe that is because he didn't have an older brother constantly Reminding him to wear a diaper. Jacob loves to help out Randall but sometimes is just distracting rather then helping. The other day Jacob was going potty and telling Randall that he had to put his "pee pee" down and "if you go poopy you have to get the wipes cause you can get an owie on your bum and you don't want a owie do you?" Randall is talking so much now and he definitely doing things according to his opinion. He doesn't like to go on the potty much now but he does like watching himself go pee. He also likes to tell us that he has done it. just now at the table he went pee and Isaac said,"oh Randall," Jacob came running into the dinning room and said," oh Randall your supposed to go on the potty not on the floor no, no, no" and Randall told Jacob,"stop Jacob, stop!" well we will see how it goes from here.
